Chaîne des Rôtisseurs Mexico 50th Anniversary / Mexico

It was  1967  when Mr. Jean Berthelot founded  México City La Chaîne des Rôtisseurs Bailliage,  that was originally born in France 17 years earlier.

50 years later a  well deserved tribute to Monsieur Berthelot who is now 87 years old and performed special  leadership in our beloved Chaîne des Rôtisseurs, he contributed in so many ways to the gastronomy  service for Chaine and hospitality lovers and culinary arts.

Sorounded by glasses full of  French bubbles, camaraderie and reunion of  friends from all over ,  we gathered at the  Presidente Intercontinental  new and avante-garde Restaurant called  Chapulin for Jean Berthelot deserved tribute and with this started the celebrations  for the half century of La Chaîne in Mexico.

Thanks to the great leadership and well performed arrngements, our Bailli Delégué Chef Thierry Blouet, who has wonderfully leadered our Bailliage du Mexique, we counted with the special visit of Madame Marie Elizabeth Jones, Vicepresident from La Chaîne International who dedicated a speech after our beloved Moinseur Jean Berthelot´s traditionally always interesting and filled with humor speech.

The Next  morning  the international delegation with members from Hungary, Singapur and Portugal took a tour to Teotihuacán Piramids where they visited the museum Sun and Moon Piramids and then enjoyed lunch with a prehispanic show and mariachi.

Activities continued in the afternoon around this memorable anniversary with the induction ceremony  of new dammes and chevaliers de la Chaine, such as some promotions  witnessed by  all nine Regional Baillis from Mexico and the numerous concurrence

Serment performed and inductions by Madame Jones  and speeches by her and  Bailli Delèguè Thierry Blouet and induction protocol. The purest mediaeval style where the inductee is touched by the officer on the shoulder with the sword while receiving the honors.

As once mentioned by the same Berthelot, from the speeches we pass to the practic excercises, to continue with the great celebration for more tan 200 persons the the magnificent St. Regis hotel in Mexico city served.

The festival was opened by a Salmon Gravlax, a soft blanc Macon Villages, Georges Duboeuf, to continue with a warm very kind pumpkin Velouté , a Cotes du Rhõne Reserve Rose, Famille Perrin. Followed by Apionabo Remoulade and light bisque.

Later a soft beeff ingot arrived,  something well achieved is the capacity to serve it red to all the guests, sorounded by a fine foie gras, betther known Filet Rossini simply exquisit, maridated with a red Chateu Castera, Cru Bourgeois, Médoc.

Desserts “La Chaîne des Rôtisseurs” made the grand finale, maridated  nothing more  nothing less with very mexican and emotive Mariachi that played for us to finish the night.

This was only the first part of the extense program designed with much care, love  and commitment by Thierry Blouet and all the Chaine  team in Ciudad de Mexico, that would continue with a visit to Cuernavaca for an amazing lunch at Las Mañanitas.

Finally, La Chaîne is consolidated in Mexico to its 50 years as the most  important an ancient gastornomic movement inspired by  the original in France, with so many plans to go further in this noble task to preserve and highlight the table, fine arts and encourage fraternity and camaraderie.
